Barcelona anyone? Mobile World Congress!

This topside trade show video thing is continuing to be the gift that keeps on giving.  Our successful work at New Mobility World in Frankfurt where I produced a number of videos for the Startup Zone brings truth to the old adage “work begets work”.

Most recently I spent a week and a half with the team from House of New Mobility filming trade show interviews at CES2016 and the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.  40 videos later, interviews of everyone from scientists to CEO’s of major auto manufacturers and everyone in between.

Soon we are off to Barcelona, gearing up to film Mobile World Congress 2016.  Traveling for shoots such as this (two camera interviews with sound gear etc.) has been a great learning experience and I’m getting better and better at paring down the non-essentials and coming up with more creative ideas to get better b-roll for highlights videos.

This time I am super excited to be taking the Ikan Beholder MS-1 pistol grip gimbal with GH4 for smooth tracking shots and yes, a one of my 5Dmk2 bodies for some sweet time lapse.  In Vegas and Detroit I used the C300’s interval shooting mode, but there are still the limitations posed by shutter speed, and was unable to get the cool time lapse with slow shutter speed effect (but any time lapse is better than no time lapse).
